Get To Know Us...

We are a family owned & managed company and achieved the unique distinction of completing 100 years recently in dyes business. The business of the company was originally started in 1917 as a small partnership firm.  Shri Amritlal Kalidas Doshi joined the firm in 1924 as a partner and was instrumental in securing dependable source of supply by successfully getting agency from then well known British manufacturer L.B. Holiday & Company Ltd.

The business was transformed into a fast growing and profitable business. It was renamed and reorganized as Amritlal & Co. Pvt. Ltd in 1941, when Shri Amritlal K. Doshi’s nephew Shri J. H. Doshi joined the business. Under his dynamism and sound business acumen the company became a large and well known company dealing in dyes and auxiliary chemicals in India with several branches and a distribution network throughout the country. The company had established it’s own dyes testing  laboratory & this was instrumental in supplies of consistent quality.

The company ventured into production of dyes in mid-1950s by promoting and being managing agents of a public listed manufacturing company named Amar Dye Chem Ltd. with a plant located near Mumbai. Gradually this became one of the largest dyes and intermediates manufacturing companies in India with Plants in Maharashtra and Gujarat States. Over 4 decades these Plants manufactured virtually the full range of dyes viz. Acid Dyes, Basic Dyes, Direct Dyes, Solvent Dyes, Reactive Dyes, Triphenyl Methane series of dyes, Vat Dyes, Acrylic Dyes, Disperse Dyes, Optical Brighteners, Pigments (Azo & Phthalocyanine types), Naphthols, Fast Color Bases and numerous Dyes Intermediates.

Amritlal & Co. was one of the main distributors of products manufactured by Amar Dye-Chem Ltd. and entered the export market in 1973. Soon the company was recognised as Export House by Govt. of India in the year 1974.  The company attained several prestigious awards from Basic Chemicals, Pharmaceuticals and Export Promotion Council, a Govt organization for promotion of exports. Based on it’s continuous export performance, the Govt. of India conferred a Golden Export House Status to the company in the year 1999. The company has been exporting its products to more than 20 countries which include developed markets like Japan, USA, Germany, Italy, Greece, Hong Kong, Taiwan, China, S. Korea, S. Africa etc. The company’s name changed during this course till it assumed it’s current name of Amritlal Chemaux Pvt. Ltd.

Simultaneously, the Company continued its marketing focus in the local Indian market by not only developing it’s own blends and variety of shades, but also selling it’s brand of dyes in small packings of half Kg and one Kg. These products are very well-known by the labels on the packaging.

Whilst the association with the manufacturing plant ended in mid-1990, the company continued it’s marketing and distribution of dyes in the local and export markets by procuring supplies from small and medium sized manufacturers. With the vast experience it had gained in production of dyes and intermediates, the company continued to interact technically with these manufacturers including contract manufacturing arrangements and ensured quality supplies.

The company diversified into marketing of Pigments few years back and has established a full fledged laboratory for  testing Pigments depending on their application viz. paints, printing inks, plastics, textiles, etc.

The company has adapted it's business to meet the challenge of competition in modern day environment of communication and connectivity. Accordingly, it has made strategical arrangements with few manufacturers for sustained supply of Dyes & Pigments.

The company is also accredited for ISO 9001: 2015 certificate for Quality Management.
